ARCHIBALD FOUNTAIN
In the northern end of Hyde Park. A circle of bronze sculptures topped
by the god Apollo, donated by publisher and journalist Jules Archibald, to remember the
relationship between France and Australia during
World War I.

Designed by Francis Greenway in 1819, and built by convicts of sandstock bricks.
Originally intended to house convicts. It was restored in the 1980s.
An overnight stay in a hammock, in convict style, can be arranged.
Relax and dine at the Barracks Cafe, which incorporates the original confinement cell area.

MRS MACQUARIE'S CHAIR
At the end of Art Gallery Road, for a view of the Opera House and Harbour
Bridge. A lookout since at least 1810 and named after Governor Macqaurie's
wife, who had a stone chair hewn into the rock.

Gothic-style cathedral begun 1866.
Finally finished in 2000.
SYDNEY HOSPITAL
Dating back to the 1880s.
Originally the central wing of the 'Rum Hospital',
completed in 1894.
At the front of the hospital is "Il Porcellino", the
"Little Boar", a copy of a 17th century statue in Florence.
Rubbing its snout is supposed to grant you a wish.
SYDNEY TOWER AND SKYTOUR
Formerly Centrepoint Tower and AMP Tower
Cnr Pitt and Market Streets.
Until recently the tallest building in the Southern Hemisphere. Located in the heart
of the city. An elevator takes you to the indoor viewing platform or one of two
restaurants on two different levels at the top of the Tower, one self-service, the
other a la carte.

The 19th century Centennial Hall has a famous 25 metre-wide organ.

Established since 1968. On the 47th floor of Australia Square, Sydney's first
revolving restaurant. 165 metres above Sydney Harbour. One revolution takes one
and three quarter hours, with 360 degree views across Sydney.
